permission to change
Things change all the time, seasons change, our bodies change, nature is ever-changing. So why do we feel obliged to remain somewhere that no longer fits? Why do we admire commitment and loyalty and call people “flaky” when they change their minds, or continuously move from job to job, city to city, country to country.
Choosing something different today doesn’t mean what you chose before wasn’t true for you, it was, for that money, that time.
Values can change, what’s important to us as a single person can be vastly different to what we find important when we’re raising a family, (can be, not necessarily are).
It doesn’t make you a bad person, it doesn’t make you fickle, frivolous or flaky.
If anything it makes you brave, insightful and present.
As long as your honest with yourself and those around you, then choosing your truth on a daily basis, even moment by moment is, well it’s the truth, it’s being true to YOU.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Isn’t it more important that we be true to who we are today? Isn’t it more important to allow for growth, for expansion? Isn’t it more important to live a life that we truly love than to stick to something we wanted at a different time?
For me, THIS is the definition of alignment. The way we create and live the life of our dreams. This is the easiest and simplest way we have of loving and honouring ourselves.
